Mefoto Cairns Photography photographed the beautiful wedding of Barbara and League superstar Cameron Smith at the Sea Temple Port Douglas. They shared an intimate ceremony with close family and friends on the Golf course at Sea Temple Resort. Although a little overcast in beautiful Port Douglas, they weren’t to worried, as both bride and groom along with their guests enjoyed the warmth of Tropical North Queensland. We continued photographing their pictorial at the Sea Temple Resort grounds before heading to Rex Smeal park, Port Douglas’ Iconic spot. Members of Cairns wedding industry have joined forces to fundraise for innovative photographic curtains that will add a ray of sunshine to Cairns Cancer Centre. On Sunday 15 January they will join forces to host the inaugural ‘Save the Date’ wedding expo at Brothers Leagues Club between 10am and 3.00pm.
Organised by marriage celebrant, Joanne Male, the committee of six wedding industry suppliers are now seeking support from the community to make this event a fundraising success.
“Our aim is to raise $10,000 through admission fees and a host of prizes and raffles,” said Joanne.
According to Ms Male, fundraising on the day will contribute towards 20, digitally printed photographic curtains for Cairns Oncology Unit. Each curtain will feature a series of wonderful images by local people. The images will be on display at the expo and attendees will pick their favourites.
“These curtains are destined to add happiness and a big dose of sunshine to those receiving lifesaving treatment. I am sure both the patients, staff, family and friends will benefit greatly from viewing the wonderful pictures and landscapes of our region taken by everyday people who have a passion for photography.”

Once again, Mefoto was blessed and proud to be apart of the end of year activities at Autism Queensland. We spent two days at the centre in Edmonton taking photographs of the children with their friends and teachers as a fundraiser for the Cairns centre. As some of the children move onto prep and kindy next year, teachers, parents and some of the kids (as most were more interested in Santa, the Zoo and the games!) were all feeling a little emotional as we thanked the teachers, therapists and staff for an amazing year. We hope that you treasure these fun times captured of our children at AQ and keep them as a reminder that even though ASD is apart of our lives, our kids have made great progress and have come a long way with thanks to all the lovely ladies at Edmonton. Have a wonderful Christmas and we’ll see you next year! And best wishes to the kids starting prep and kindy next year 
Mefoto shot a very beautiful elopement of Danielle & Stuart on a bright sunny day at the Elandra Mission Beach. Accompanied by only two guests on their very intimate wedding day, the Elandra at Mission Beach provided the backdrop they needed overlooking the Islands that surround Mission Beach. After bride and groom preparation photographs, they had their wedding at a beautiful decked out hall at the Elandra where they themed it beautifully for their tropical wedding. After their wedding in Elandra, we then shot around Mission beach along the Jetty and the look out. Considering it was just the three of us, we had a lot of time roaming around beautiful Mission Beach during their wedding day. Their reception ended at the Elandra Mission beach, with a huge platter of sea food that awaited for them.
From time to time we get to photograph engagement photos for our lovely Bride and Groom to be’s. We’re always excited to do engagement photographs as they allow us the time and freedom to be a little more daring.. not like we aren’t daring enough with our images. Belinda & John drove up from Townsville to get there engagement photos done locally here in beautiful Cairns. Cairns provided the perfect backdrop and took on the opportunity to be photographed. All up we spent probably 30 minutes taking photos as the rain slowly crept in. Hope you like the photos Bel and John!! We were privileged enough to photograph one of the most dynamic weddings we have shot in a while of Kiri and Kane at Bali Hai in Mossman, Port Douglas region of Tropical North Queensland. Bali Hai in Mossman is one of our most favourite locations for taking wedding photographs and the wedding of these two lovely couple definitely illustrates why. Both living abroad and use to living a high profile lifestyle, it was no wonder why Kiri and Kane tied the knot at such an amazing location, with such an extravagant theme which included a helicopter (sky safaris Aus), a carnival and fireworks. Bali Hai in Mossman was the perfect backdrop for their dream wedding. And what an amazing wedding it was. Thanks again for allowing us to capture your day of days. Something a little different for mefoto Cairns photographers. We had a wicked time photographing theses two photogenic peeps (Emma & Ashley) down the road at Freshwater here in Cairns. To my recollection, Emma’s first words when we first met her were ‘we finally found you’. With a shocked face we acted calm slowly backing up thinking ‘who is this stalker?!!’ But turns out that she is another beautiful life loving character whom we are so blessed be around, we find this to be a common trait with every couple who books us, hi five to all our lovely couples! Life loving and full of character! Hellz yeh! So we came up with a concept for their engagement shoot and took on the opportunity to push mefoto’s new product for 2012. This photo shoot is part of a video show-reel which we have created for them, our 2012 price list will offer this product. Think of it this way: Mefoto + Video = Eshoot! We’ll update this blog with the video by the end of week..make sure to check us again. We cant wait to show you.. for now here are a few shots we got for them. Don’t mind the fuzzyness.. we’ve added noise (tiny dots) to make it look cooler! Hope it works….if not then tough luck……. for now rock on!!!
We celebrated and had the privilege to photograph the amazing wedding of Joanne & Angelo, all the way in Sydney. Yes we are regarded as Cairns photographers, but with special requests we fly around to other Cities such as Sydney. Joanne & Angelo have been together for a long time and decided to finally seal the deal with deciding to get married. The smooth ‘loy’ proposed on a gondola in Italy while travelling across Europe last year. Their Sydney wedding was far different to the type of weddings we are use to in Cairns. Thankfully good photographer friends helped the mefoto crew as we were constantly capturing timeless images on their wedding day. Here are a few memories we captured for them..
